With all the benefits stated and how hemp and oil-infused hair health products are striking the market, many are curious to use a hemp-infused shampoo or conditioner. However, one concern people often raise whether one can test positive for a drug test if they use hemp shampoo.
Over time hemp oil products have become popular. Their reputation has gone a long way in making the products gain purchases worldwide. Hemp oil is used as a raw material in industrial manufacture and as an additive in the food product. Hemp oil is gaining popularity in the hair industry with products including hemp serum, hemp shampoo, hemp conditioner, hemp hair volumizing sprays, and hemp oil products for beards. Hemp oil-infused products are selling out as the best organic products in the market. However, this doesn't change the fact that they come from the hemp plant. Hemp is usually associated with marijuana, and for obvious reasons, hemp oil products will raise concerns over their safety. One common safety concern is whether one can test positive after using these products.
Users find a product, in this case, shampoo, labeled as containing 'hemp' or 'CBD', and you can easily confuse the two. Hemp oil and CBD oil may sound similar since they both come from the cannabis plant. However, this is not the case; the production of CBD oil uses the flowers, leaves, and stalks of the hemp or cannabis plant. These have a higher concentration of CBD and another potentially beneficial compound in the plant. Hemp oil, on the other hand, is obtained from the seeds of the cannabis plant. Cannabidiol (CBD) is the second most prevailing active constituent in cannabis. It is federally approved because it contains no psychoactive components that induce high sensations, as does hemp oil.
The simple answer to this question is NO. This is considering whether you are using commercially made hemp foods such as milk, cooking oil, and cereals or hemp products such as lotions, lip balms, and shampoos. You need not worry; even if you are a regular user of hemp oil products or have just started using these products, there is no way you will test positive for THC.
Remember that the only reason that the production and use of hemp oil and its products are federally approved is that they don't contain significant amounts of THC. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the principal psychoactive constituent of cannabis that is responsible for giving people high sensations. Even when tested in the lab, hemp oil products will not test positive for THC; of course, they may contain traces of this compound, but the amounts are so minute that even if you were ingesting these products, they are not significant to show in a drug test. Furthermore, shampoo is used externally, and there is no way that they infiltrate the body to get into contact with the blood.
This is one of the greatest benefits of hemp shampoo and has led to its popularity over time. Hemp seed oil, the main ingredient in hemp shampoo, contains nutrients and fatty acids such as omega 3, 6, and omega 9 that stimulate hair growth. People with damaged hair are also catered for as these fatty acids help aid in keratin formation to restore hair. Al-Snafi (2018) indicated that the Hemp shampoo also contains vitamin E, which prevents hair loss and improves cerebral and scalp circulation, encouraging hair growth.
Trüeb et al. (2018) indicated that one of the hair problems people face is hair breakage. This may result from hair coloring, heat styling, or general hair and tear. To some women, their hair shaft is prone to hair breakage. Hemp oil-infused products such as hemp shampoos nourish the scalp and help strengthen the keratin layer of each strand of hair. The stronger each strand of hair, the less likely you are susceptible to hair breakage. Hemp also contains nutrients that aid in preventing hair loss.
According to Sinclair (2007), Omega 3, 6, and omega 9 are fatty acids that also come in handy to repair hair strands. These fatty acids coat each strand, creating an extra layer of protection. Hemp has light properties; it does not weigh down strands and makes them prone to breakage. Dry hair strands will soak hemp shampoo up and put its nutrients into use to aid in the repair of the outer layer of hair strands. Hemp shampoo also strengthens and makes the hair healthy with each strand.
If your hair desperately needs moisture, then the hemp shampoo is the best option for you. Remember that hemp shampoo contains omega 3 and omega 6 that also prevent water loss providing the hair with all the moisture it needs. Hemp shampoo is also a good option since it doesn't over-dry hair strands, requiring a lot of conditioners. Giving your hair a duo of hemp shampoo and hemp conditioner will give the hair better results and amazingly hydrated. This duo will leave your hair healthy and with that astounding shine, especially for people with dry hair types.
A healthy and hydrated scalp makes up for healthy and moisturized hair. Some people experience dry strands throughout the year, which may, in turn, lead to itchiness in the scalp and unnecessary hair breakage. Wilson& Nutbrown (2021) reported that Hemp oil-infused shampoo aid in bringing and maintaining moisture in the hair and the scalp for deeply nourishing and moisturizing benefits. You should add hemp shampoo to your daily routine, and a combo with hemp conditioner will give awesome results making the hair stronger, healthier, and softer.
Another benefit of hemp oil-infused shampoo is that it prevents itchiness on the scalp. Itchiness may come about even after using regular shampoo. According to Baswan et al. (2020), Hemp shampoo contains anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant properties that ensure that you will not get itchiness in the scalp even after use. Itchiness may also be a result of infections. Hemp oil shampoo has also covered you with its anti-bacterial properties that protect the scalp from infections.
You may see some shampoos labeled 'hemp'; remember that hemp shampoo may contain CBD or not. Either way, there is no cause for alarm as both hemp and CBD don't contain THC, which is the psychoactive component in cannabis. Whether you will test positive for a drug test is 'NO'. Keep in mind that hemp is federally approved in the first place because it doesn't contain any THC, which is what is tested for during a drug test.
