How and When to Use CBD body scrub

CBD-infused products are good for maintaining good health. There are various CBD products, including tinctures, gummies, vapes, and topicals. However, unlike other products, topical products are only for external use and manufactured with active ingredients for maintaining the health of your skin. CBD is noted to have various properties suitable for improving your skin's general health and wellness, such as anti-inflammatory and antioxidant.

However, for the body scrub to be effective, it must be of high quality, with active ingredients. Besides, how you use it also determines its effectiveness. Although some people prefer conducting a skincare routine in the morning, the perfect time for maximum effectiveness is in the evening. Let us get insight into how and when you should use CBD body scrub.

    What Is CBD

. CBD or cannabidiol is an organic chemical compound found in either hemp, cannabis sativa, or marijuana. However, it is not the only element in these plants. Several elements include terpenes, flavonoids, and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). The elements work together to provide an entourage effect for a better outcome of the skin's and general body's health. The presence or absence of either of the elements leads to the three types of CBD body scrubs; broad-spectrum, isolate, and full spectrum.

    Broad Spectrum

Broad-spectrum is considered the best type and is the second dominant after full spectrum. It is manufactured using all the elements of the hemp plant except THC. Unlike other elements, Fottore et al.  (2011)  suggested that THC has received attention from researchers due to its psychoactive side effects. However, there are contradicting researches on the impact of THC on the full spectrum. According to Hanuš& Hod (2020), its anti-inflammatory properties make it work best. The properties are important for the skin since they regulate the production of sebum, which contributes to acne, among other conditions.

    Full Spectrum

This is the most common type of CBD in the market. It requires less extraction because it uses all the elements of the hemp plant. However, it is disadvantaged over broad-spectrum CBD because it has THC, noted to have psychoactive side effects. Notably, the absence of CBD shouldn't be a reason for using concentrated high amounts of broad-spectrum body scrum. Liu (2019) noted dizziness, anxiety, and red eyes among the side effects of overdosing on CBD. However, the absence of THC makes it the perfect alternative for the full spectrum.

    Isolate

Isolate CBD facial scrub is outstanding among other types. It is manufactured using a single element (CBD), unlike full-spectrum and broad-spectrum with multiple elements. Isolate body scrubs are suitable for those targeting CBD-related health benefits only. However, this deprives you of antibacterial properties found in terpenes and flavonoids.

When Should You Use CBD Body Scrubs

The most appropriate time for using CBD body scrubs is in the morning or evening. Using it in the morning is effective because the skin cells are still active, speeding up the absorption of active ingredients found in the CBD body scrub for maximum effectiveness. Hameed et al.  (2019) showed that dermatologists recommend applying skincare products in the evening. This gives it enough time to maximize the active ingredients by absorbing them fully. When you sleep, the body is chilled, allowing the skin to auto-repair and make it less active (off protection mode).

How To Use CBD Body Scrub

    How you use your CBD body scrub determines whether it is going to be effective or not. Consider using the following procedure for maximum benefit;

    Step 1: Wash Your Body

Your body accumulates oils from sweat, body lotions, or creams covering the pores. This covers the pores on your skin, hindering penetration of CBD body scrub for maximum effectiveness. Therefore, you need to clean the body, preferably in warm water, and allow the skin to dry fully. Alternatively, you can use a clean and warm towel to eliminate the fats on your skin.

Step 2: Apply The CBD Body Scrub

You don't need to apply too many CBD body scrubs for maximum effectiveness since they are highly concentrated. Notably, ensure your fingers are clean and dry. Using your finger, apply CBD body scrub to the specific area and gently massage it in your skin in a circular motion. Do this for about 60 seconds.

    Step 3: Rinse It

Before rinsing it, give it about 20 minutes for the active ingredients to be utilized fully through absorption. Rinse the area, preferably with warm water.

How To Choose the Best CBD Body Scrub

Quality is a priority if you are looking for maximum benefit. CBD topicals are manufactured with various active ingredients such as MCT oil and arnica. O'Sullivan et al.  (2016) discovered MCT oil is used in edibles to improve digestion rate due to its bioavailability properties. Avoid CBD body scrubs with artificial ingredients because they are likely to lower their effectiveness and potency levels.

    The Lab Results

Avoid any CBD body scrub without lab results since it is likely unfit for use. Also, avoid brands that have been receiving constant warnings from the FDA regarding the safety of their products. Pay attention to purity levels since most products will likely be contaminated during the extraction and processing stages. Chemicals are involved during this stage, putting your body scrub at a higher risk of contamination.

    Conclusion

CBD body scrubs can only be effective when used appropriately and effectively. The best time to use CBD scrub is during the evening. This gives the body enough time to absorb the active ingredients of CBD for maximum effect. However, the quality of your scrub also determines its effectiveness. There are various factors for determining the best CBD scrubs. Consider other elements included in the facial scrum for maximum effectiveness. Notably, avoid artificial elements since they might cause skin irritation. The lab reports are an important part of CBD facial scrub. They help in determining purity levels. Also, consider CBD facial scrub manufactured with CO2 hemp plant extracts since it minimizes contamination of the end products and the environment.
