SHOULD I USE CBD SERUM DURING THE NIGHT OR THE DAY

CBD offers numerous health benefits. It is great at relieving pain and the effects of inflammation and combating the effect of aging and free radical damage on the skin. These among others have bolstered its use among the general public. There are over one hundred phytocannabinoids identified in the hemp plant. Moreover, CBD and THC are the two most abundant and makeup at least half of hemp extracts. There are several types of CBD products but most are classified as topical, vapes, oils or tinctures, and edibles. These forms have different methods of administration which impact the level of bioavailability of the CBD. It can however be difficult to know when it is the optimal time to take CBD as different prescriptions vouch for administering CBD during the day and at night. This is a discussion on when to take CBD.

When To Use CBD: At Night Versus During The Day

In general, there is no conclusive answer as to when CBD should be taken. Some CBD supporters believe that taking CBD first thing in the morning, before breakfast, is the greatest time to gain the energy you need for the day. Others believe that using CBD oil at night, right before bed, is the optimum time to do so because it promotes better sleep. Sarris et al. (2020) explained that CBD can be taken at various times of the day, depending on a variety of conditions. The main reason behind this is that everyone's endocannabinoid system reacts to CBD differently. There are several reasons on when to take CBD serum but can be majorly categorized into three reasons, i.e. reasons for using CBD, the dosage of CBD one uses and the type of CBD product one utilizes.

    CBD Dosage

While most CBD serums come with a daily dosage recommendation, you may want to experiment with different quantities to see what works best for you. Once you've figured out how your body reacts to a certain CBD serum dosage, you can figure out how much to take and when to take it for the best results. When you need relief, you could choose to take your daily dose around that time. Alternatively, to spread the effects throughout the day, divide your dosage between morning and evening.

    CBD Category

There are three main types of CBD extracts, i.e. full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, and CBD isolates and they differ in composition and concentration. Nahler (2022) stated that CBD serums made broad spectrum contain other cannabinoids such as CBDV, CBN, and CBG but lack any amount of THC. The full spectrum contains controlled amounts of THC whereas isolates are pure CBD compounds.

    Reasons For Taking CBD Serum

Pahwa et al. (2021) explained that different people use CBD oil serums for many different reasons, including treating skin conditions, improving nighttime sleep, improving general mood, and relieving chronic pain, and other ailments. If one wants to improve sleep, it would be best to take their daily CBD dose before bed. If one feels energized after using CBD, they might want to take it with their breakfast or lunch to feel better during the day. If one wants a calming effect from CBD, they should consider taking it with their evening meal.

Reasons For Taking CBD During The Day

To Promote An Effective Workout Regime

If your morning routine includes working out or doing various exercises, using CBD serums in the morning could prove to be beneficial. Sperry et al. (2021) explained that using CBD-infused serums can help warm the muscles and stimulate them making them ready for a workout. In addition, the serums may prove to be effective when recovering from an intense workout session. CBD serums do this by inducing vasodilation of blood vessels allowing more blood to flow to body muscles and tissues to supply them with oxygen and carry away the waste products from muscles. This promotes a quicker recovery than normal. Moreover, CBD serums may offer relief in case of muscle aches and body soreness as it interacts with ECS receptors on the skin to offer localized relief.

    To Improve Productivity Levels

Beginning one's day with a low mood in the morning may affect their overall level of effectiveness during the rest of the day. This may cause a drop in one's level of focus, low levels of activity, and a general disliking mood. Deuel, & Seeberger (2020) stated that using CBD serums in the morning may help lighten the mood and give one a balance in their energy levels. In addition, CBD may be used to improve one's level of focus. Mornings are always frequented with high levels of cortisol, which is a stress-inducing hormone. Lu et al. (2021) explained that utilizing CBD serums may help reduce the levels of cortisol in the brain as high levels of cortisol hamper focus. Low cortisol levels also imply a good mood to kick start your day.

Reasons For Taking CBD At Night

Relaxing After A Hard Day Of Work

All work and no play make Jack a dull boy, long hours spent at work or on an office desk can drain energy and lead to fatigue and exhaustion. In addition, fatigue can hamper productivity levels. CBD serums can be used to promote recovery after a long day at work. It can also be used to provide relief to body aches and muscles. CBD serums are more appropriate as they offer localized relief to their users, for instance, patients suffering from arthritis may use CBD serums to offer localized relief to joint pains at night.

    To Promote Sleep

High levels of cortisol can cause one to be stressed out hampering the sleeping patterns and levels of an individual. Lack of proper sleep can affect health status. High-stress levels result from high levels of cortisol in the brain. CBD is known to regulate the production of cortisol in the brain. It does this by inhibiting various receptors in the brain. Therefore, utilizing CBD serums can help reduce the blood concentration of CBD thereby promoting sleep.

    Conclusion

Deciding to use CBD at night or during the day is dependent on several factors: the type of CBD used to make the serums, its interactions with the body, and the dosage utilized. CBD serums can be used during the day to promote focus and energy levels and to improve appetite in the morning. One can use CBD at night to promote sleep, aid in body recovery after an exhaustive day, and offer relief to individuals with different ailments at night. However, it is always prudent to seek medical advice before using CBD as a physician provides more insight on the proper usage of CBD serums.
